Some facts about this fuel source
| What is Hydrogen?
Hydrogen is the simplest element. An atom of hydrogen consists of only one proton and one electron. It's also the most plentiful element in the universe. Despite its simplicity and abundance, hydrogen doesn't occur naturally as a gas on the Earth—it's always combined with other elements. Water, for example, is a combination of hydrogen and oxygen (H2O).
Hydrogen is also found in many organic compounds, notably the hydrocarbons that make up many of our fuels, such as gasoline, natural gas, methanol, and propane.
Hydrogen is a clean-burning, carbon-free gas that is becoming more attractive in an era of concern about climate change. Hydrogen Gas can be used for cooking, water heating, space heating, electricity generation, welding and cutting.
Pure Hydrogen can be used in fuel cells to provide electricity for homes, businesses, and hybrid electric cars. The only waste product from hydrogen fuel cells is water.
How is Hydrogen made?
Hydrogen has traditionally been costly to produce. It is commonly stripped from natural gas, but that process leaves carbon dioxide, which must be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable way. This is not as easy as it sounds. There is also a limited amount of Natural Gas.
The conventional way to produce Hydrogen without generating carbon dioxide is to separate Hydrogen from Oxygen in water using Electrolysis. This is simply passing an Electric Current through water and collecting the gas at the electrode. In reality water is not a good conductor so a soluble chemical is added to make this process occur. Common Salts are normally used. This has to date been only cost effective when done on a Commercial scale, as the Electrical energy required prevents the process being cost effective to the average person.
What are Hydrogen's Characteristics?
Hydrogen could be considered to be a safe fuel. It has an in built safety factor of being the lightest Chemical element. That is to say Hydrogen disperses very quickly rising straight up and is lost almost as soon as it is released. Hydrogen disperses so quickly that a Gas Welding torch will not light unless the Spark is next to the gas outlet (If you don't believe this you must try it). The same could not be said for Acetylene!
It would be nearly impossible to fill an enclosed area with a Hydrogen Oxygen mixture and produce an explosion as the Hydrogen has a tendency to disperse very quickly, even through walls and ceilings and would require a strong ignition source, not a Spark for a light switch or alike.
A normal Acetylene welding torch can be used with a Hydrogen flame. The Hydrogen Flame is very pale in comparison. A Hydrogen Oxygen Flame will produce higher temperatures within the material being heated when compared to alternative gases.
When Hydrogen burns with Oxygen, water vapour is produced. So say goodbye to all those fumes produced by LPG and Acetylene. This also removes the need for fume extraction and special breathing apparatus in enclosed areas. This gas is environmentally friendly.

What does the generator do?
These generators use Electricity to Electrolyse Water into Hydrogen and Oxygen. This fuel is ready mixed and will burn when used correctly. The difference is that now there are cost effective options starting from 600 W through to 4 kW for the most powerful generator. This has never before been achieved with such Electrical efficiencies.
The second major breakthrough is the use of normal 5 stage filtered water. Other machines tend to use Distilled water, which can cost more than Petrol. Suitable filters can be supplied to suit your needs.(see picture below -
our standard water filtration system supplied with generator - this system is state of the art)
The gas produced is diatomic hydrogen and oxygen in stochiometric mixture (2 Hydrogen to 1 Oxygen molecule). This makes this gas very combustible and an ideal source of energy. Other chemicals can be added to the flame to produce higher and lower temperatures at the flame tip, as well as colours for use in production environments where electronic sensors are used to measure flame characteristics.
No extra Oxygen is required for combustion and this flame will burn in environments where no Oxygen is available.
The Alarmists reading this will say that this type of gas mixture is unstable and dangerous. This is not correct. The gas is kept at low pressure, only produced on demand, and when combined with suitable torches and safety devices become far less dangerous than an equivalent Acetylene Oxygen System.
Obviously the normal precautions necessary when using any flame apparatus must be observed.
No attempt is made to separate the Hydrogen and Oxygen mix; it is simply generated under low pressure, and then served on demand to whatever process is required. Flame sizes can range from a needle to a large welding torch style, but you will find in comparison Hydrogen Oxygen torches are much smaller than their Acetylene/Propane/LPG alternatives, as less gas is required to obtain equivalent heating effects.
The gas generators store very little Hydrogen Oxygen mixture (sometimes known as Brown's Gas) to minimize the risk of explosion. The gas is produced on demand to suit your usage requirements. The machines combine state of the art safety features to ensure that usage is safer than any other Gas Product available. They are fully automatic and maintain a stable and safe supply of gas, warning the user if a problem should occur.
A unique style of power supplies ensure that gas generation is fast and uses very little Electrical energy. The largest model producing 2000 litres an hour only consumes the same power as 2 electric kettles (4 kW). Your Electric shower is at least twice as costly to run!
Maintenance is limited to the exchange of the Electrolyte solution within the machine every 2 - 3 months. There is no stripping and rebuilding of the machine as with other products, just the simple drain of Electrolyte followed by a flush with hot water. Then recharge the Electrolyte and refill with filtered water. The whole process is complete in 10 minutes. What could be simpler?
